Take me to that desert place
Where there’s not a soul in sight
Where heaven touches the earth so
That all I have and need is You.
Take me to that desert place
Where there’s not a drop of water
Where I’m parched and dry with thirst
That only Your saving blood can quench.
Take me to that desert place
Where there’s no morsel of food to eat
Where I’m starved and frail with hunger
That only Your life giving body can fill.
Take me to that desert place
Where though the world abuzz around
Where I retreat within to find
That only You and I exist deep in my heart.
